New York - Kevin Cook, 25, of Brooklyn was held up at gun point in Central Park for his phone on Saturday. When the mugger saw what was on offer, he gave the vintage flip phone back to his victim.

Cook told the New York Post, “Once he saw my phone, he looked at it like, ‘What the f**k is this?’ and gave it back to me.” Cook, who works as a New York Sports Club salesman, was apparently strolling with a friend near the West Drive in the 60s when it happened. Talking more about his rather old phone, Cook said, “It’s like a 3-year-old generation Windows phone.” “I guess he didn’t think he could get anything for it,” Cooke added. “It’s kind of humorous.” Humorous in hindsight maybe, as the gunman actually threatened to kill Cooke and his friend. Cooke described the mugger as wearing a dark-green winter coat and blue jeans. He was apparently working with an accomplice with long black hair in a pony tail and reportedly both thieves ran before the police could catch up with them. The NY Post said that this was the 13th robbery reported in 2013 for Central Park, which is apparently the same number as last year. However this time, of course, the robber got nothing of interest to take away with him. Buzzfeed compared the story to a T-Mobile Jump commercial ... sound familiar?
