Toronto - Despite the fact Toronto is in the race for a spot in the NBA Playoffs, the Raptors are looking towards next summer to add the talent they believe can take them to the next level.

The front office has already been proactive in making moves this season with the hopes they can reduce the teams salary cap and make a move for a big name free agent and a couple rookies in the off-season. The latest mock drafts have the Raptors concentrating on the back court and if the team ends up trading Kyle Lowry, it makes sense they will add a couple young guards to replace him. Toronto looks like they will have a mid first round pick and Jordan Clarkson of Missouri is a solid option. The 6'5" youngster has good size for a point guard, but more importantly he has the leadership skills needed to run a team. Clarkson is in his third year as a Tiger and that added experience should help when he makes the jump to the NBA next year. The Raptors also have a pick late in round two and that makes it tougher to project, but NBA Draft has the team taking International player Bogdanovic of Serbia. The young Russian is also a big guard at 6'5", but his limited experience against stiff competition makes this more of a selection based on potential, but the Raptors have the luxury of taking a gamble, especially is they add a free agent or two over the summer.
