Yokohama - Advertisers everywhere would love to have the ability to tap into the consciousness of every consumer. A new gadget, which looks very similar to Google Glass, might finally give them that opportunity.

According to Mashable, the gadget is called the Neurocam and was demoed, along with its accompanying app, at the Human Sensing 2013 conference in Yokohama, Japan. Engadget reports that the Neurocam is a headset that reads the user's brainwaves through, and records what interests the user. There is a part on the headset, by the brain sensor, where the user places their smartphone so its camera can be used to record. The headset has EEG sensors that scan the brain, and then the Neurocam App assigns a value from 1 to 100 based on how the user reacts, according to CNET. If the value gets over 60, then the smartphone's camera is cued to record five-second clips of whatever it is that spiked the person's interest. Advertising giant Dentsu has backed this new gadget in a new joint venture called ScienceJam, according to Mashable. ScienceJam's Kana Nakano said that it could be used as a life log, and also tell what products people actually like, according to CNET. Nakano went to add that because the device includes positioning data "you can do mapping, so it could also show what places people are interested in as an aid for urban development planning. We think it could be used in lots of ways like that." Engadget reports that the device is still in development process.
