Indianapolis - Andrew Bynum is back in the NBA after the 26 year-old signed a free agent contract on Saturday to join the Indiana Pacers.
Bynum started his career with the LA Lakers, but after several off court incidents, the young center left the West Coast for greener pastures, but trouble and injuries have followed the big man over the past tow years. After a trade to Philadelphia in 2012, the young man never played a game for the 76ers, due to injuries. Bynum then signed with Cleveland, who traded him to Chicago this season, but the Bulls immediately released the seven footer, not wanting the distractions and clearing some salary cap room to sign a big name player this summer. Indiana is battling Miami for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and have needed a backup center behind Roy Hibbert, but the issue of his commitment to the team and how he fits with the Pacers off the court could play a big role in how long he stats with the team and maybe in the NBA. The league has always given players second and third chances and this could be the last for the talented, but troubled big man. Bynum has burnt bridges in every place he has played and must make better decisions off the court if he wants to continue his career on the court.
