Green Bay - The NFL Wild Card game between San Francisco and green bay was a rematch of a terrific week one contest and just like the first meeting, the 49ers prevailed 23-20 when kicker Phil Dawson booted a 33 yard field goal on the games final play.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had his best performance of 2013 in the week one clash, but he was also terrific on Sunday as he completed 16 of 30 passes for 227 yards and a score, but his biggest influence on the game was with his legs as he rushed for 98 yards and made several big plays with his mobility in and out of the pocket. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 17 of 26 for 177 yards and a score, but the San Francisco defense forced four sacks and put pressure on the veteran all afternoon. The 49ers out gained Green Bay by 100 yards and looked unstoppable at times, but the home crowd and some big plays by the defense in the red zone kept the NFL Playoff game close, but in the end, it was the play of Kaepernick under pressure and a tough San Francisco defense that made the difference and now they move on and play at Carolina next weekend.
