If it ain't one thing it's another, or so it goes for Canada's embattled pop-star, Justin Bieber. Bieber is now either in Toronto (that would be Rob Ford country) or on his way, to be booked on an assault charge.

The charge stems from an incident back on Dec. 29 when Bieber was watching his team, the Toronto Maple Leafs play at the Air Canada Centre. Initially it was said the limo driver hired to drive the Biebs and others to and from the game was the victim of an assault from a Bieber bodyguards. At the time police said they were not sure if Bieber was or was not involved, though they believed he was in the limo when the alleged assault occurred. Toronto police spokesperson Victor Kwong told media at that time that “whether (Bieber is) the guy who did the actual assaulting, I don’t know." Bieber: Alleged to be part of assault It now appears 3 witnesses say he was involved, though no one has revealed exactly what form the alleged assault is alleged to have taken. But reports have it that he will be booked for assault either this afternoon or tomorrow and be given a citation. Then the 19-year-old will be released on his own recognizance and free to go. A court date will be set but he will not have to stay in Toronto awaiting that court date. Recently Bieber has had other legal issues, including the police raiding his house to seek evidence in a case which saw him throw numerous eggs at a neighbour's house in the rich, gated Calabasas neighborhood, near Los Angeles. He's also being charged for an incident last week in which he is alleged to have drag-raced in Miami at 4 a.m. with a friend. Other charges from that incident may include resisting arrest without violence and a D.U.I. A recent petition on a White House 'We the People' website to deport Bieber has reached 100,000 signatures (it's at 142,000 and counting), the point at which the government must respond. More recently a petition not to deport Bieber also began on the site. Mr. Bieber is a becoming an increasingly hard subject for a beleaguered media to keep abreast of.
