The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has given 'Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes' an M for Mature rating due to some disturbing content.

According to the ESRB, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes earned an M rating due to strong language, intense violence, sexual violence, blood and gore. This would be the second game to receive an M rating for sexual violence by the ESRB, the first being Animamundi. Many in the video game community expected Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes to receive an M rating but many were shocked that intense violence and sexual violence were among the reasons. Previous games in the series had always received an M rating but it was only for violence and blood. The ESRB had stated that: "One cutscene includes a depiction of blood and gore (e.g., a character's intestines exposed during a dramatic procedure to remove an object). The game includes an audio file in which a female character is sexually assaulted by male characters; while there is no visual depiction, sounds of ripped clothing and struggle can be heard." The moment in question regards a scene were Snake surgically removes a bomb from the abdomen of Paz. The another moment features an audio track of a women being allegedly raped. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be the tenth game in the official canonical and will be acting as the prologue for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game will be released on March 18 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One but gamers can pre-order it now. The game is set 10 days after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and follows Snake (a.k.a. Big Boss) as he attempts to infiltrate Camp Omega (an undisclosed US military base in Cuba). He has to rescue Chico and extract Paz before she reveals damaging information about Militaires Sans Frontières (French for Soldiers Without Borders).
