Los Angeles - The 2013-14 NBA season could go down as one of the worst in LA Lakers history. The team has won just three of their last 21 contests, with age and injuries mostly to blame, but the good news is things will change for the famed franchise.
General Manager Mitch Kupchak will have a high draft pick this summer and enough money coming off the books to add a star player. Kobe Bryant will be around for two more years, if healthy and with a star studded group of players becoming free agents over the next two years, look for the Purple and Gold to rebound quickly. Recent reports have Kevin Love headed to the West Coast after his contract expires with the Minnesota Timberwolves and while the youngster is a definite upgrade of talent in the front court, would he bring championships to Los Angeles? Bleacher Report writer Adam Fromal has suggested that Kupchak goes all in to sign LeBron James. James is now 29 and playing at MVP level, but prying him away from Miami could be tough. The leagues best player could look for a new goal in his playing career, like winning more titles with a new team and what better place to finish his career than Hollywood with all its glitz and glamour. One thing is clear, the LA Lakers must make some major changes if it wants to become relevant in the NBA. Both of these players could help turn things around quickly, but management will need to decide if they want the player that loves Los Angeles or go after the star that could put the Lakers back on the map.
