Jerusalem - More than just an ancient city filled with religious sites and historic attractions, Jerusalem is a modern travel destination with an international flair, boasting world-class museums, unique cultural events and inspiring contemporary attractions.

This year, Jerusalem will offer a diverse collection of art, dance, music and cultural events taking place as part of its annual Calendar of Culture 2014, including: The Winter Noise Cultural Festival (February 2014), which will transform downtown Jerusalem into a lively outdoor cultural festival every Monday in February, including music, dance, street theater, video art and art master classes open to the public in open-air locations. The Sounds of the Old City Festival (March 31-April 3), featuring a diverse selection of musical performances by local and international artists in front of the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. The festival will include gospel, jazz, world and traditional Armenian music performances spread out throughout the Old City, beginning at the Jaffa Gate and throughout the Armenian Quarter, Jewish Quarter, Muslim Quarter, Christian Quarter and back to the Jaffa Gate. Jerusalem Arts Festival (April 1-8), showcasing hundreds of local artists, singers and dancers across the city. The festival events are free of charge and open to the public. Eco Tourism Weekend (May 15-17), an innovative weekend featuring bike tours, recycling workshops and family-friendly activities in natural landscapes and parks in Jerusalem. Celebrate Israel Festival (May 29-14), Israel's largest cultural festival, featuring three weeks of innovative art, music, dance and theater performances by local and Israeli artists in venues across Jerusalem, including the YMCA, Sultan's Pool and around the Old City sites. Jerusalem Festival of Light (June 11-19), including colorful lighting displays projected onto Old City sites and buildings, as well as special events and tours. The festival will feature lighting installations by renowned international and Israeli light artists and nighttime illuminated tours through the Old City, as well as outdoor performances and a "rock 'n' roll circus." Hundreds of cyclists and athletes from around the world will arrive in Israel on September 20th for the second-ever KIA Epic Israel mountain bike event. The competition includes a challenging multi-stage course through some of northern Israel's most diverse natural attractions.
