Country singer and songwriter Eric Paslay released his self-titled debut studio album on February 4, 2014, via his label, EMI Nashville.
Paslay either wrote or co-wrote all 11 songs on the CD. It opens with the soaring "Keep on Fallin'" and it is followed by his latest single "Friday Night," which sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, for the week ending February 15. If all goes well, it ought to reach No. 1 within the next week or so. "Country Side of Heaven" is a melodically-stunning ballad and "Never Really Wanted" was his breakthrough song which was a Top 50 hit on country radio. "Here Comes Love" is upbeat and catchy. "Good with Wine" is another prime cut and one can feel the raw emotions that Paslay sings about in "She Don't Love You." "Song About a Girl" showcases his versatility as an artist and he saves the best song for last: "Deep As It Is Wide." It's great to hear his solo rendition of the tune, which was also an album cut on Amy Grant's How Mercy Looks From Here CD, as a duet with Sheryl Crow. The Verdict Overall, Eric Paslay has done a superb job on his brand new studio album. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's been a long time coming and I'm glad it's out. He displays a tremendous amount of talent as both a singer and songwriter. For more information on country singer Eric Paslay, check out his website.
